Hey....Moustache!!!

So, I ask you...would you trust this guy with your pyramids? Yeah, no I didn't think so, but it was worth a shot, after all...political office is not for everybody right? The fiscal year of 1973 (rough guess) might be a rough one should you not cast your ballots.

If this doesn't make sense to you then you're either a) normal or b) not my father or uncle. Both of these are acceptable excuses to such jabberwocky, but to explain:

On their trip to Egypt in whatever year (I guessed 1973, taking into consideration that ol' Kenny Billy would be approx. 24; the fashionable years for adventure) the story goes that while in Egypt Uncle Ian had a very similar moustache to Anwar as-Sadat (again, basing things on 1973 and egyptian nationalism) and the locals would shout "eh, Moustache!!" in conjunction with his facial hair similarity. Now, I don't plan on visiting Egypt in the near future, but this is my similar year of adventure (seeing as I also look like I just climbed Mt Kilimanjaro in 1956 with 14 sherpas)..without hesitation the Rollie Fingers Handlebar Moustache was dawned...and the people rejoiced. This particular shot is from the misty daybreak in Orvieto overlooking the town and a several hundred year old traversable well shaft...and again the people rejoiced.

Needless to say, as the aforementioned father I feel compelled to add to the record!
The year was 1976, and the moustache that Yasser Arafat sported was wonderous to behold indeed. It was 3 years after one of the recurring Arab/Israeli conflicts, and the locals were in no good mood- armed guards on all bridges and public buildings, and by god don't even think of pointing your camera this way you western spy.
Still and all, if you want to get to know your brother, I recommend the youth hostels of Luxor, or the Tempi hotel in Athens, just off Syntagma Square, and a bottle of retsina. Or you could always enroll in Architecture at U of W!!
And if you want to put all the beauty and power of Rome and Egypt in perspective, I recommend Shelley's Ozymandias.

Liam, you have done what very few have dared to do, and you do it well. A double whammy indeed. I nearly thought that you had just escaped the photo shoot for the basement tapes when I realized you were outside. Richard called, all bets are off - Robbie did a raindance.

The cold grows stronger here. Our band must be formed in order for the frost to settle.

Safe travels, Belfast Cowboy.

Love,
Mike

Grannie's comments:

There's more going on in that face than a moustache - "mustachyounottomentionit"-whatever it is in there, has been there all along I suspect.

Congratulations on the whole thing!
